The day I met Lloyd Kaufman was like no other.   I eagerly waited in school until 12:15 when I was to be picked up by my Dad to go to Lloyd Kaufman's book signing.  When I reached Scarecrow Video I was about to walk in, when across the street I saw Lloyd Kaufman getting out of his car carrying a bag marked Troma.  At that moment I had the most nervous feeling in my stomach.  I waited on the stairs of Scarecrow Video in line with about 15 other people.  Lloyd came up and down the stairs just saying "Hi" and he had to get some stuff.   He walked in with some boxes full of his book and some TROMA movies.  Finally he sat down at a table and said this.  "Hi y'all, here on this table are some TROMA movies and a pile of The Chosen One comic.  Take one of these TROMA collectibles if you would like on your way out.  The people in front of me talked to Lloyd for a couple minutes and some handed him some tapes of movies they had made.   Finally it came to me.  First he asked me my name.  I said David.  I told him I loved and movies and he said his movies loved me.  I took a copy of Def By Temptation from his pile of TROMA collectibles.  After me, my dad gave him his TROMA book.  He signed it and then told him, "When all these people are gone, why not you and David stick around so we can talk for a bit".   I was suprised.  When all the people left we talked.  I asked him about The Toxic Avenger soundtrack.  He told me that one was released in Europe.  I'm trying to get a hold of this.  I also asked him about working with Lemmy in Tromeo and Juliet.  he told me that he was a very nice guy but needed his liquor and women by him all the time (I guessed that after being a big Moterhead fan).   Lloyd is really nice guy.  He's the kind of guy you feel right talking to.   He was suprised that a teenager like me would be watching TROMA films at my age.   My site will soon have a link on the TROMA web site.  If you ever get to meet Lloyd, just act natural.  Even when your making films about sex, drugs, and violence it doesn't mean your a bad person.  (The Toxic Avenger, Kabukiman, and the Killer Condom didn't make it )
